Sports Massage

Would I benefit from a Sports Massage? Chances are, Yes! Whether you are a novice, weekend warrior, or a professional athlete, Sports Massage can be tailor made for your needs. Whatever stage you are at in your training, massage can help address the issues.

Right before an event massage can help get you to your peak performance by loosening and gently stretching the muscles and increasing the blood flow to the tissues. Immediately after the event, massage can help decrease your recovery time by assisting your body to move all the built up toxins out of the muscles.

For the beginner athletes who outdid themselves, a range from light to firm massage can be used to milk the lactic acid out of the achy muscles.

Between events we can look for potential problems and address them BEFORE an injury happens. If an injury does occur, massage can help the body to heal by bringing fresh blood, with good nutrients and oxygen that your body needs, to the injured area. Stretching and mobilization techniques work very well for many injuries of the arms and legs.

In the off season a deeper type of massage is used. Deep tissue work addresses problem areas and weaknesses. This together with a cross training and a strengthening routine will give any athlete a jump on next season.

So whether your sport is baseball or football, snowboarding or windsurfing, give a massage a try. Your body will be glad you did.
